Job description

Mauro Motors is looking for an experienced, disciplined and attention to detailed Pre-Owned Manager for our new Pre-Owned Location - Mauro Motors Pre-Owned of North Haven, a 30k SF and 8 Acre facility, built for Commercial Vehicle Sales/Service and Pre-Owned Operations Expansion.

The Pre-Owned Manager's goal is to turn the dealerships inventory at least 12 times per year, while achieving gross profit/unit goals set by dealer and hitting monthly sales targets. To do this, the Pre-Owned Manager must be exceptional in the following:

Recon Management: Adopt and abide by the dealer's strict process oriented recon process for all pre-owned vehicles. This process covers initial inspection, pricing, merchandising, service repairs, vendor cosmetic repairs, detail, and retail stickers. Inspect all Pre-Owned vehicles before entering the recon process to identify work items that need to be completed prior to entering front line retail status Utilize digital recon software to track and hold key members and vendors accountable for processing vehicles and completing work items while going through the recon process, in a prompt timeline Approve work orders and repair orders promptly to maintain recon timelines, while balancing AVG RECON Expense Per Vehicle set by dealer Maintain a 8 day T2L (Time to Line) recon process per month Maintain a 4 day ADR (Average Days in Recon) recon process per month Make sure all vehicles are always moving fluidly through recon process and do not sit idle Hold and direct daily recon meetings with all key members of recon process with the objective to keep all members focused on daily tasks that need to be completed each day. Inspect vehicles prior to entering front line retail status Inventory Management:

Responsible for managing $5MM-$10MM in inventory (100-300 units) at a given time. Manage all vehicles through vAuto Inventory Management System Make sure every vehicle has a plan day 1 when it's in inventory Make sure that vehicles are priced accordingly to their respective competitive market, option content, desirability, market day supply, age, and condition Manage vehicle pricing to maintain high inventory turn rates and dealer set gross profit targets Work within dealer aging rules in order to retail vehicles in a 90 day window Prepare weekly wholesale reports by marking vehicles into wholesale disposition so wholesale manager can auction off vehicles each week Review vehicle leads and VDP reviews to track consumer interest in each vehicle prior to re-pricing it. Understand each vehicles market day supply and wholesale value in order to make sound and effective decisions on exit strategy decisions. Inventory Acquisition

Main source of acquisition for the Pre-Owned Manager is trade or street acquisition in this dealership. Making sure department maintains a high LOOK to BOOK % of 60%+ is key to acquiring units are the right values Reviewing each day trade opportunity reports and appraisals from previous day to see if there is any opportunities to go after or be more aggressive on Acquire inventory at healthy CTM (Cost-to-Market) and with respect to wholesale values, such as Manheim Market Reporting Values. Appraise at least 60% of retail trade appraisals Acquire vehicles from Auctions Acquire vehicles from Rental Companies Work with other acquisition departments to communicate desired inventory needed Pre-Owned Director, Service to Sales buyers, Buy Center Managers. Inventory Merchandising and Marketing

Make sure all inventory has accurate descriptions, photos and option content within 1st 24 hours of hitting inventory Make sure professional photos are added once vehicle has gone through entire recon process, immediately after detail. Make sure all vehicles have pricing and state disclosures in them before entering retail front line Each week, review dealer website to make sure there are no issues with Pre-Owned SRPs and VDPs Communicate with Marketing Director to have sound Pre-Owned Focus each month on specific inventory or sales event. Keep showroom and key parking spots always filled with Pre-Owned Inventory. Review 3rd Party Lead Performance Quarterly and suggest adjustments. Sales Management

Working with Sales Management team to help manage, coach, train and direct Sales Department Staff in order to achieve dealer unit and gross profit targets Work with Sales Agents and Business Development Center on any customer interested in a Pre-Owned vehicle and structure deals accordingly using dealer desking system TO customers in showroom actively working on Pre-Owned Vehicles to help sales associates close deals Communicate with Sales Staff during weekly sales department meeting key focus points of pre-owned department Keep sales staff abreast of new inventory, important inventory information, aging inventory, etc through strategic meeting talking points and lot walks on a weekly basis Make sure inventory reports are always being used and sent to all sales staff daily
