ModernControls is seeking a Warehouse Manager to plan, organize and monitor the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items. Our main office is centrally located in New Castle, De and we are the leading Commercial HVAC & Building Automation System (BAS) contractors in Delaware and surrounding area since 1989. We provide comprehensive HVAC services to commercial and industrial clients as well as BAS construction projects. Requirements:

Warehouse Manager essential functions:

• Receive equipment/material deliveries, check them in, stage for pick up or coordinate delivery to job site.

• Maintain and monitor Ford Pro for vehicle management.

• Load trucks to deliver materials to job sites and ensure that parts get to our team members when needed.

• Ensure correct stock/equipment is pulled for a job.

• Maintain stock of all shop supplies, tools, and safety equipment.

• Manages and oversees the tracking of tools and equipment. Must be capable of performing inspections of all tools and equipment prior to going out, and when being returned.

• Ensures that all tools, equipment, shop equipment is kept in great working condition.

• Ensures the efficient organization and layout of the warehouse by optimizing processes for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.

• Plan, coordinate, and perform work such as: Receive, store, pick-up, distribute, organize, and sort materials and equipment.

• Responsible for training, motivating, monitoring and evaluating the performance of warehouse employees and material handlers.

• Ensures their ability to safely operate equipment and move materials.

• Oversees the maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.

• Communicates with other departments, project managers, and vendors as needed.

• Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the warehouse is maintained to a high standard.

• Operate/drive a box truck, stake body, and backup a trailer. Must be able to obtain Medical DOT Card.

• Safe use of Forklift.

• Coordinate deliveries and pickups with vendors and communicate information with management for their projects.

• Responsible for negotiating and tracking pricing of tools, shop supplies, and equipment purchases with vendors.

• Ensures the efficient organization and layout of the warehouse by optimizing processes for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.

• Must work closely with VP of Safety to ensure that the warehouse is kept safe and that the material handlers are following all safety practices and policies.


Required experience:

• Must have 3-5 years’ experience managing a warehouse.

• Must have experience with tools/equipment and fleet maintenance.

• Must have experience maintaining & performing inventory, shipping, and receiving.

• Must possess Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.

• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.

• Must have the ability to build strong relationships, have grit, energy, attention to detail as well as high level of organizational skills.

• Must possess a strong passion to see business succeed.

• HVAC or Mechanical Experience is crucial for success in this role.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of passing a fitness test to achieve a DOT card.


Work Requirements:

• This is a salaried position.

• Expected hours are Monday through Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM

• Open to working on Saturday when needed.
