We are bringing on board a Part Time Payroll Specialist to our team located in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity where the specialist will be required to manage a variety of payroll-related tasks. The industry we operate in demands a high level of accuracy, organization, and multitasking abilities, and the specialist will be expected to work independently to meet these demands.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the precise and prompt processing and reconciliation of payroll transactions which includes salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Guarantee compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations during payroll processing.
• Handle and resolve any issues that arise in relation to payroll production.
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to validate payroll data.
• Ensure all business, accounting, and payroll reports are accurate and delivered promptly.
• Perform audits and troubleshoot any discrepancies that appear in payroll.
• Utilize payroll software systems with accuracy and efficiency, including but not limited to ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce.
• Administer 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time tasks.
• Oversee accounting functions and perform auditing and benefit functions as necessary.• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a payroll specialist role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is a must
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is necessary
• Knowledge of Ceridian software is desirable
• Experience with Dayforce is required
• Proficiency in 401k - RRSP Administration is needed
• Familiarity with About Time software will be beneficial
• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions is required
• Auditing skills are highly desirable
• Experience with Benefit Functions is a must
