Responsibilities and Expectations
The Business Data Analyst is part of the Strategic Initiatives team for Equity Bank. This team is responsible for driving the strategic projects of the company. This position is strategically minded, an influencer, driver for change and focused on customers and business performance with quality data analysis. This position will need to deploy a flexible analytical skill set to deliver insightful data and analysis, model business scenarios, define metrics, and address operational challenges with a quantitative approach. The principal goal will be to use data to drive better business decisions. The Business Data Analyst will deal with complex problems and ambiguity by using a variety of tools to find answers and can work with large amounts of data with high attention to detail.

This position requires standing, walking, bending, and squatting on a regular basis. May require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or reach with hands and arms. Requires the ability to carry, lift, move or push up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to talk and listen to others.
Work Environment
This position regularly works in an office setting. Most of the job duties require the employee to be working with computers and electronic media on a regular basis.

Job Functions:
- Support the delivery of strategic advanced analytics solutions with solutions drawing on descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and modeling.
- Perform modeling/analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various strategic initiatives.
- Leverage a broad set of modern technologies to analyze and gain insights within large data sets.
- Create and evaluate model design and performance. Analyze model input data, assumptions, and overall methodology.
- Using statistical practices, analyze current and historical data to make predictions, identify risks, and opportunities, enabling better decisions on planned/future events.
- Provide analytics insights and solutions to solve complex business problems.
- Apply business knowledge and advanced statistical modeling techniques when building data structures and tools.
- Examine data from multiple sources and share insights with leadership and stakeholders.
- Transform data presented in models, charts, and tables into a format that is useful to the business and aids in effective decision making.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant industry standards, best practices, business processes and technology used in modeling and within the financial services industry.
- Prepare project deliverables that are valued by the business and present them in such a manner that they are easily understood by project stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering)
- At least 2 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in Statistical model building and business analysis.
- Strong analytic skills with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Demonstrated task management skills.
- Consistently demonstrates good judgment, critical thinking, and creative solutioning.
- Experience in large data set manipulations.
- Proficiency with large server-based applications and typical desktop software preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
