Summary of Position: As a Data Scientist you will work closely with clients, managers, and technical teams to understand business needs, develop analytical strategies, and deliver data-driven insights to address complex challenges. Your primary role will involve creating and applying advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and analytical frameworks to detect and mitigate financial crimes effectively. You will leverage your Data Science expertise to ensure analytical solutions align with regulatory requirements, focusing on identifying patterns, anomalies, and risks in large structured and unstructured datasets. Additionally, you will collaborate with technical teams to integrate models into existing applications or visualization platforms, driving actionable insights that support compliance and risk management efforts. Essential Functions: Exploration, cleaning, and wrangling to understand available data Meetings and discussions with clients and co-workers to refine understanding of the business problem at hand Trying different predictive modeling approaches to identify the best fit for a given set of business understanding, available data, and project timeline Writing re-usable code in R, Python, Java, Scala, SQL, or other languages, and working to refine it through code review and discussion Applying statistics to understand the significance of different attributes Preparing presentations, writing reports, and working to communicate technical results to clients with varying levels of analytic sophistication Ability to work independently in a collaborative, dynamic, cross-functional environment Must be able to work in a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance Capacity Job Specifications/Requirements: Must have an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE: ACTIVE TOP SECRET PERFERRED Must have 2-4 Years Data Science Experience Possess undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as engineering, computer science, analytics, math, finance, accounting, MIS, social sciences, physics, or decision science. Design, build, and deploy data pipelines to transform raw data into formats ready for analysis, supporting machine learning (ML) models using Python, R, and SQL. Extensive experience in complex data analysis, programming, and computer modeling, including simulation, forecasting, and both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Develop and improve end-to-end ML pipelines, integrating back-end and front-end components in cloud and on-premises environments. Strong background in research and delivering analytical technologies, with a focus on Agile methodologies for deploying analytical solutions. Proficient in data manipulation, modeling, and applying quantitative/statistical, qualitative, and predictive analytics techniques. Strong expertise in SAS applications. Skilled in advanced data analysis techniques like statistical sampling, regression analysis, link analysis, geospatial analysis, social network analysis, and data mining. Experienced in designing programming algorithms, business rule models, and query parameters to extract, validate, compare, and analyze data from multiple sources, supporting activity, pattern, and trend analysis. Experience with querying and analyzing financial and accounting datasets Desired Skills: Master's degree or higher with significant coursework in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field that provides a strong theoretical base in mathematics and statistics. One (1) to three (3) years of experience using programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and advanced statistical methods (e.g., inferential, predictive) to analyze complex datasets to uncover insights to real-world problems.
