Financial Analyst
General Summary
Benderson Development is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial analysis support for our residential and commercial land investment operations. This role involves preparing pro forma financials, managing budgets, and conducting in-depth financial analyses for a variety of real estate projects.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present pro forma financial analyses for residential and commercial investment projects, including new acquisitions, expansions, remodels, and demolitions.
- Support leasing and finance teams by:
- Preparing lease analysis reports for presentation to the Real Estate Committee
- Gathering and analyzing data on existing tenants and properties
- Develop detailed pro forma models to assess the economic feasibility of real estate investments, acquisitions, and developments.
- Build multi-scenario valuation models to assess costs, benefits, and returns for complex financial transactions, including major acquisitions.
- Measure investment performance and compile long-term capital budgets for real estate acquisitions.
- Assist the Executive Director with project financing, coordinating with lenders and brokers to secure appropriate financing.
- Collaborate with the legal department to coordinate financial aspects of loan closings.
- Perform due diligence for project financing.
- Work with the Accounting Department to ensure proper financial treatment of land projects and coordinate with the Tax Department to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Prepare financial reports and deliver presentations to senior management.
- Monitor regulatory and compliance updates related to real estate investments, advising management on potential impacts.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, with a focus on real estate investments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Expertise in preparing pro forma financial models and conducting detailed financial analyses.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software, including Excel and MRI software experience a plus.
