Responsibilities:

The phlebotomist performs venipunctures and ensures the proper identification of the patient and the collection of the correct type of specimen at the appropriate time. The phlebotomist ensures proper handling and transport of specimens to the appropriate laboratory. The phlebotomist may also perform preanalytical and post analytical tasks, as well as clerical duties.



Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in MS office suite of products. Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Demonstrates knowledge of blood and body fluid precautions. Successful completion of a Certified Phlebotomy Training program and 3-5 years of Phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
