THE ROLE:
Responsible for processes all invoices payable by the hotel.Responsible for all general cashier duties to include process deposits and provide central cashier services for Hotel.Complete daily income audit.Monitor and make changes to forecasts and make recommendations based on hotel business levels. Responsible for reconciling all charge backs to hotel.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
General Cashier
- Retrieves deposits from drop safe and does daily deposits.
- Counts house safe at beginning and end of each shift and maintains the petty cash fund.
- Reimburses any due backs/petty cash.
- Complete the over/short report.
- Makes unannounced audits of cashiers' banks and audits banks monthly as part of month end duties.
- Provides change for Hotel employees and guests. Maintains appropriate amount of change in the house safe as necessary.
- Maintains contracts for each cashier and issue cash handling policies.
- Maintains a running bank balance.
- Coordinates weekly pick up with Brinks.
- Deposits all checks with bank deposits and/or Check Desktop Deposit.
- Receives all Hotel invoices. Matches invoices with purchase orders, receiving reports and packing slips.Compares prices on invoices to purchase orders to ensure accuracy of prices.Verifies addition and extensions of all invoices.Codes invoices to correct expense categories and distributes to appropriate manager for approval.
- Processes and posts accounts payable invoices and credits.
- Verify all accounts payable checks returned to property for signature. Files in alphabetical order by vendor name and matches checks to invoice for signature and disbursement of checks.
- Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
- Ensures prompt and accurate payment of payables.
- Reconciles statements on a monthly basis and resolves any discrepancies.
- Handles all vendor inquiries.
- Responsible for researching payables information in storage.
- Maintains voided check file for operating and Imprest accounts.
- Posts electronic fund transfers
- Enters cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by guest and/or group.
- Ensures daily mailing of all invoices with complete back-up detail.
- Creates, obtains and mails invoice copies as requested by the guest.
- Researches and processes guest claims.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school with focus in accounting; or 2 years accounts payable/cashier experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of previous accounting and finance experience in a hotel finance environment.
- Birchstreet experience preferred.
