The purpose of this role is to support the local accounting team to facilitate (1) useful spending and budgeting information for the local management team, and (2) public reporting information for the corporate finance team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Set up and enter journal entries in Dynamics.
- Prepare bank and GL account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of internal reports and analysis of the data.
- Assist in monthly cash reports and cash call requests for approval by the local GM.
- Review coding, taxes, currencies, and completeness of receipts for employee expense reports.
- Support department managers with cost reviews.
- Circulate invoices for approval.
- Scan and file invoices.
- Complete new vendor request forms and compile required backup.
- Coordinate the 2024 asset tracking, including physical and intangible assets.
- Develop a spreadsheet to categorize by location, department, value, etc.
- Compare 2023 and 2024 assets, noting discrepancies.
- Recommend best practices for improving 2025 asset tracking.
- Two years of study completed towards a B.S. in Accounting or Business required.
- Experience in the mining industry preferred.
- Accounting and bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs required.
- Hi level of critical and logical thinking.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in communication, customer service and organizational skills.
