Title: Executive Director of Corporate Accounting - International Operations Long Island, NY
Objective: The Executive Director of Corporate Accounting will lead our international accounting operations across the US, Canada, and the UK. This high-impact leadership position includes the oversight of accounting practices, the integrity of financial reporting, and the establishment of a cohesive strategy aligning local and global financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and lead the corporate accounting strategy across multiple regions, ensuring local compliance while maintaining global standards.
- Collaborate with regional management teams to unify accounting efforts and achieve international financial objectives.
- Accounting Operations:
- Ensure the timely and accurate consolidation of financial results from US, Canada, and UK operations in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other local requirements.
- Manage and oversee statutory accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in each country.
- Team Management:
- Build a high-performing and diverse international accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Engage in talent development, succession planning, and performance management for the accounting department.
- Corporate Governance:
- Enhance and enforce a robust internal control environment, especially over financial reporting and disclosures.
- Ensure proper financial governance frameworks are in place in all regions according to local and international standards.
- Integration and Standardization:
- Oversee the integration of accounting functions from potential mergers and acquisitions into the corporate framework.
- Implement and standardize global accounting policies and procedures across international operations.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and accompanying analysis reports.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the executive leadership team to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Lead the coordination and support for internal and external audits across the accounting functions in the US, Canada, and the UK.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and standards, and communicate changes and implications to the leadership team.
- Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as a key point of contact for investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies regarding international accounting matters.
- Elevate the reputation and credibility of the company by providing high-quality financial information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACA, or equivalent certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior accounting role, with a proven track record in international or multi-region environments.
- Expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, and the regulatory environment in the US, Canada, and the UK.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor teams at both a local and international level.
- Experience with the financial integration of multi-country mergers and acquisitions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in the use of enterprise-level financial systems and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Salary Range:
$90,280.00 - $139,730.00
