Overview

This is a business internship supporting the Regulatory Accounting department. The intern is responsible for a variety of accounting duties including journal entries, monthly account reconciliations and system support as necessary. The summer position is a full-time hybrid role, with the possibility of continuing part-time (~ 20 to 25 hours/week) during fall and spring semesters and full-time (40 hours/week) during summers. The company will be flexible in the part-time work schedule (8am-5pm - Monday-Friday) based on the student's class schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Must have a basic understanding of financial and accounting theory / principles.

  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Provide assistance in the monthly closing process.

  • Compile and organize data for reports.

  • Create and maintain files.

  • Work with operational and financial employees to gather financial information.

  • Plan and develop financial reports and analysis using Excel, BMI, Infor and/or MicroStrategy.

  • Perform other duties as directed by manager.

Qualifications

  • Completed freshmen year of undergraduate studies with declared major in Accounting.

  • Currently enrolled in school full time (minimum 12 credit hours/semester).

  • Must possess strong computer skills and Excel experience with spreadsheets.

  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and Word are desired.

  • Good communication skills are a must, both written and verbal.

  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
