About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its organization. This role involves guiding the library in its shared vision, stewarding a large leadership team, and ensuring that the library's services and programs fulfill the community's aspirations. The Executive Director will also be tasked with external community relations, strategic leadership, and organizational management, with a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates for the Executive Director position at the company should possess a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree or an ALA-accredited graduate degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership, team management, and a robust commitment to diversity, equity, and anti-racism. Experience in a public library system and a background in working with diverse, multi-cultural communities are essential. The role requires high emotional intelligence, the ability to work in politically sensitive environments, and a strong focus on professional development and staff empowerment. The Executive Director will also be expected to have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the Board of Trustees and other community partners.
