Mechanic- Greenland

Polar Field Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Greenland. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to work in a remote Arctic environment while contributing to cutting-edge scientific research.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, power generation equipment, and facilities.
• Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Operate and maintain snowmobiles, Tucker, and Caterpillar vehicles.
• Handle minor electrical, plumbing, and heating issues.
• Monitor and maintain facilities, including power generation and water systems.
• Compile inventory records and submit resupply requests.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience repairing heavy-duty equipment
• 5+ years of experience maintaining facilities, including welding and fabrication
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, tools, and techniques
• Experience with power generation equipment
• Ability to drive trucks, snowmobiles, and other polar vehicles
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in a remote, challenging environment
• Valid US passport and driver's license
• Field experience is preferred, with Arctic or Antarctic experience being a plus
