Shift Differential: For hours worked 4pm - 12 am ($.50/hour) or 12am - 8am ($1.00/hour)

Job Summary

Operates Heavy Equipment and vehicles for construction and maintenance projects. Performs maintenance & repairs to highway & off-road vehicles and equipment. Handles metal working duties including cutting, welding, and fabrication projects.

Essential Job Duties

  1. Maintain roadways, parking areas, and walkways during winter months. Plow, haul away snow, and salt/sand vehicle & pedestrian traffic areas for safety & functionality as needed.
  2. Operate construction machinery and vehicles for outside construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
  3. Perform maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles using shop equipment and hand tools in accordance with manufacturer recommendations & industry standards.
  4. Monitor and maintain equipment and vehicle maintenance logs.
  5. Complete assigned repair, maintenance, and project work orders.
  6. Use welders, torches, saws, grinders, adhesives & paint to repair, modify, and fabricate metal structures, components, and devices.
  7. Use and maintain tools & equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations & industry standards.
  8. Review, verify, and follow all applicable codes & regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and industry standards regarding equipment, systems, and work practices.
  9. Assist and coordinate with a variety of skilled trade personnel to complete job assignments.
  10. Submit progress reports, job reports, and completed work orders issued by Department Management in a timely manner.
  11. Communicate and network effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
  12. Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
  13. Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  14. Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  15. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  16. Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.

Supplemental Job Duties

  1. Provide service to other departments as requested via radio dispatch and work order requests.
  2. Keep time, material for assigned work orders, submits to supervisor upon completion.
  3. Notify Supervisor of any discrepancies while performing procedures on machinery and/or equipment that may require service from an outside vendor.
  4. Submit Daily Report (work log) to supervisor at end of shift.
  5. Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  6. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Moderate lifting and pulling up to 50 pounds is required. Significant reaching, twisting, crawling, stooping, grasping, climbing, kneeling, and use of hands, wrists, arms and legs are required. There will be moderate exposure to hot and cold temperature variations, dust, odors, elevated working conditions, hazardous equipment and high voltage. Required to be on-call 24 hours a day, including weekends. Must be confidential.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Requires a high school diploma or GED and a Diploma/Certificate from Heavy Equipment Operator/Mechanic vocational school, or one (1) year of Heavy Equipment Operator/Mechanic job experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to safely and effectively operate machinery, repair vehicles, and perform metalworking assignments with minimal supervision. Requires a valid Iowa Driver License or Iowa Commercial Driver License. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

Skills/Abilities: Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently with limited supervision. Must be able to follow all Environment, Public Health, and Safety (EPHS) requirements. Must have strong computer skills. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Must possess poise and tact. Must be flexible with working hours and days off. Must have good organizational and communication skills. Must have knowledge of blueprints and schematics with attention to details. Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.

Restrictions

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
