Job Summary:
The Principal Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating the business's engineering insight needs, translating them into measurable metrics, and analyzing performance to drive efficiency and improvements across functions.&
This role involves developing data models, process flows, and metrics while collaborating with engineering and other departments to ensure alignment with evolving business objectives.&
The Principal Business Analyst will identify areas for process improvement, recommend system and process changes, and monitor performance to support continuous improvement and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate engineering insight needs and translate them into measurable business metrics for decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and synthesize business data to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities, explaining not only what is happening but why.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, particularly within engineering, to document or validate the current business process (As-Is) and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Work with management to define short- and long-term objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and potential business gains.
  • Identify areas requiring improvements by analyzing current process metrics and performance.
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor and validate insights, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Recommend process and system changes based on data analysis and identified trends or patterns.
  • Establish metrics to determine whether intended outcomes are achieved and drive accountability for meeting goals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to reduce business process variations and optimize performance.
  • Prepare project presentations for senior management and assist in developing process improvement plans to meet business goals.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and innovation to increase operational transparency and predictability.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, business, engineering, physical/applied sciences, or a related management discipline (e.g., business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or management information technology).
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in business analysis or a related role.
  • Previous experience in engineering within complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of the value of metrics, iterative delivery, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience developing requirements for data collection and translating data into actionable insights for the organization.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, and team-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of technical concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures, and technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and data visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and lead projects to successful completion.
