Position Summary
As a Business Analyst II, you will play a key role in working with functional areas of our business to understand system change requests and translate them into actionable design documents for our IT organization. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and be instrumental in our Guidewire PolicyCenter projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Bridge the Gap: Work closely with major functional areas of the business to document and understand change requests, and translate these into clear, actionable plans for the IT team.
- System Integration Expertise: Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design systems that integrate seamlessly with both internal and external applications, ensuring all dependencies are well-managed.
- Impact Analysis: Review and analyze how changes to business processes or needs will affect technical requirements across the system and the organization.
- Guide Projects: Shepherd ideas through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure successful documentation, development, testing, and implementation of new business processes and system changes.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive Software Requirements Specifications, use cases, technical requirements, wireframes, and system flow diagrams for Guidewire configurations and custom software development projects.
- Troubleshoot and Support: Collaborate with the Operations team to triage production issues and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) sessions, ensuring a smooth transition from development to production.
- Liaison Role: Act as the key liaison between functional leads, development teams, and support teams, ensuring clear communication and successful project outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience as an IT Business Analyst with a strong focus on Guidewire PolicyCenter projects, including product navigation, integrations, business rules, and policy lifecycle management.
- Agile Methodologies: Thorough knowledge and experience working in Agile environments.
- Technical Writing Skills: Expertise in writing detailed Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), use cases, and wireframes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working daily in cross-functional teams and skilled at negotiating consensus among departments with differing priorities.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with browser web development tools, defect-ticketing software (such as Rally, JIRA), and an understanding of HTML, XML, SOAP APIs, and UX design.
- Industry Knowledge: A strong background in Property & Casualty Insurance, particularly in Homeowners and Commercial Property, is essential.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations, upgrades, or conversions as an IT Business Analyst.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task, and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
Work Location
This is a hybrid role that requires onsite presence 2-3 days a week at our Lake Mary, FL office (500 International Pkwy, Lake Mary, FL 32746).
