Our Engineering Operations team has an immediate opening at our flagship Buena, NJ plant for a Manufacturing Engineer who is ready to take their career to the next level. As a Manufacturing Engineer at Comar you will be a critical member of the team developing solutions, continuously improving our processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met in support of our customers and the patient or end user of our products. What you will do:

Organize, plan, and deliver Capital Infrastructure Projects.

  • Plan and schedule project goals, milestones and deliverables.
  • Define requirements and plans the project life cycle deployment.
  • Define resources for project and the program implementation schedule.
  • Develop Capital Project Request (CPR) Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).
  • Identify and solve project issues effectively.
  • Develop RFP (Requests for Proposals) for external services.
  • Design and maintain project and technical documentation.
  • Document project status reports and provide timely information to all stakeholders.
  • Undertake project strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.


Operations and Product Design support.

  • Develop Engineering solutions to technical problems.
  • Provide production diagnostics support, troubleshooting, identifying root cause and corrective actions for problems outside the normal production operating window.
  • Implement projects to improve safety, efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Drive continued process improvements, utilizing functional teams as needed.
  • Follow Good Plant Engineering Theory & Practices to methodically and safely address shortcomings in plant systems.
  • Lead inter-department interaction with Operations, Engineering, and Vendors in the resolution of issues. Communicate through reports, action registers, data analysis type tools with team and stake holders.
  • Champion COMAR's process improvement culture (TPI-Three) technology.


Organize, plan and deliver fully integrated automation solutions.

  • Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve automation issues.
  • Implement projects to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Support operations to identify root cause and corrective actions for problems outside the normal production operating window
  • Standardize automation equipment, infrastructure and processes for the plants.
  • Ensuring equipment and systems meet all applicable safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.
  • Provide education and training to key stakeholders in the plant.


Maintenance System Process Improvements.

  • Partner with plant maintenance leaders to drive process improvement throughout company.
  • Help drive standardized equipment, tooling and plant preventative maintenance programs, utilizing best practices across organization.
  • Support plants in ensuring equipment and systems meet all applicable safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.


Who we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Packaging Technology, Engineering or related field.
  • 4 years process engineering or technical manufacturing experience in the plastics industry.
  • 4 years Project Management experience.


Preferred:

  • Experience in a manufacturing facility using Injection Molding.
  • Green or Black Belt (Lean Six Sigma) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience using CAD design software, SolidWorks and Auto Cad.


Do you have?

  • Solid Understanding of Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and Statistical Quality Controls (SQC) and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of plastic processing equipment and plastic materials, including injection molding, injection blow molding, and extrusion molding using polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, polystyrene, and all other thermoplastics and engineering resins.
  • Understanding of mold and tooling design related to plastic processing.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft office suite, database administration, ERP), proficient in creating and managing pivot tables in EXCEL and ability to become user proficient in IQMS.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with managing various technical resources.
  • Leadership qualities to define requirements for project risks.
  • Organizational, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including communication of complex projects in straightforward terms.
