Job Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Full Time - 40 Hours
Monday – Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) We operate one shift only.

Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery. This role requires technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and is essential in minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the production team to support operational goals, maintain safety standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair of Equipment:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery, including metal stamping presses, motors, drives, conveyors, and pumps,
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to ensure equipment operates effectively.
- Replace defective parts, test machines, and calibrate equipment as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventive maintenance schedules, and parts replaced.
Installation and Equipment Upgrades:
- Assist with the installation of new equipment, ensuring it is set up and calibrated correctly.
- Support equipment modifications or upgrades to improve efficiency, safety, or functionality.
- Test and calibrate equipment after repairs or installation to ensure it meets production specifications.
Safety Compliance and Protocols:
- Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines during all maintenance and repair tasks, including the use of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of machinery to identify potential hazards and report any safety concerns.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all maintenance work follows safety regulations.
Inventory and Parts Management:
- Manage and track inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to order necessary parts and stay within the maintenance budget.
- Ensure that tools, parts, and equipment are organized and accessible to minimize repair times.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production operators to understand equipment needs and promptly address operational issues.
- Communicate with supervisors and engineers about equipment performance and suggest improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss maintenance strategies, safety updates, and production goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required. A technical diploma or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. A strong electrical and pneumatic background is preferred but is not a deal breaker.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and ability to read technical schematics and blueprints.
- Understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems is a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in various positions, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in high-noise environments and around potentially hazardous machinery and chemicals.
- Other Skills: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and good time-management abilities.
Working Conditions:
This role is based primarily on the manufacturing floor, with exposure to high-noise and heavy equipment. May work during off-hours to prevent production downtime and respond to urgent repair needs. This position is often required to be on-call for emergency maintenance or repairs.
