OverviewLutron Electronics has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Manufacturing Process Support Technician at our manufacturing facility located in Austin, TX. A successful SMT Process Support Technician will own the production, utilization, CPH, and quality metrics for the facility's automated soldering and dispensing processes. In a typical day, you will ensure steady production on the SMT lines by assisting and troubleshooting the line as needed. This may include modifying machine programs, determining root causes to quality or process issues, and driving resolution. You will also support Manufacturing Engineering as they introduce new products. Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement to the process metrics of CPH, Utilization, OEE, Uptime, DPMO, AOIFC, and PPMRegularly perform problem solving/troubleshooting to fix the root causeMentor & train operators on equipment and proper troubleshooting techniquesExecute New Product Introductions (NPIs) and communicate issues found to engineering resourcesCreate and refine SMT screen printer programsCreate and refine convection oven profilesAnalyze and change Placement libraries and AOI inspection librariesWork with Facility Equipment Support to perform certain maintenance tasks and provide thoughtful suggestions on how to reduce machine downtimeIdentify the need for and review completion of corrective maintenance by Facility Equipment Support QualificationsAssociates degree in electronics, electro-mechanical technologies, advanced manufacturing or similar with a minimum GPA of 3.03+ years experience as technical resource in manufacturing environment preferredAbility to work 1st shift (6:30am - 3pm)Willingness and flexibility to learn and solve a wide variety of problems, leveraging help of experienced engineers and expertsRead and understand electrical schematics, drawings, part specifications, and standard operating proceduresExperience with automated dispensing equipment is a plusExperience as a quality, equipment or process support technician in a manufacturing environment preferredAbility to read and follow work instructions and basic communications in EnglishLutron Electronics' position as the worldwide leader in innovative lighting control and shading solutions has enabled consistent, annual growth.
