Budget title: Division I Coaching Assistant (SL-1)


Salary: Biweekly rate of $631.47 (part-time, temporary position, approximately 15 hours per week, through May 31, 2025


Binghamton University is a NCAA Division I institution in the America East Conference, located in Binghamton, NY with 21 intercollegiate athletic teams. Binghamton University is currently seeking a Sports Performance Intern, working under the supervision of the Sports Performance Staff.


The main goal of Binghamton University's Sports Performance Program is to help student-athletes reach their athletic potential. This is achieved through the student-athletes becoming stronger, faster, and remaining injury free. The Sports Performance Assistant will work in conjunction with the sports performance team in all aspects of training for 21 Division I programs.


Position responsibilities will include:


+ Observes, shadows, and assists Performance Coaches during training sessions


+ Teaching and monitoring correct exercise techniques


+ Assists with testing, data collection, and interpretation using programs including Teambuildr, FirstBeat, Catapult, and Vitruve


+ Assists Sports Performance staff with maintaining the facility


+ Supports Performance Coaches with updating athletes' files


Job Requirements:


Visa sponsorship is not available for this position


+ Working towards a bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field, and a desire to gain valuable experience in the field of Sports Performance


+ Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with student athletes, athletics staff, and others.


+ Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise others are important.


Preferred:


+ Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Related Field


+ Certification through the NSCA (CSCS)


+ CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
