JOB TITLE:
Work Study Posn Student - Student Aid - Sports Medicine
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
Front line support for UW student-athletes while competing in their sport while gaining professional relationships and knowledge of various sports, first aid care, and general sports medicine knowledge/exposure. This position serves University of Wyoming student athletes
Job location: High Altitude Performance Center
Pay rate or range: $9/Hour
JOB PURPOSE:
Assist University of Wyoming Football Certified Athletic Training Staff with Sports Medicine Functions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Currently Enrolled at the University of Wyoming as a student
Other requirements: Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:
Experience with Exercise Science/Kinesiology immersion; First Aid Skill; Critical Thinking Skills; Fast-Paced Working Environment
Majors Most-Related to the Position: Kinesiology / Biology / Any and All Medical Professions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Certified Athletic Trainers with set-up and tear down of athletic team practices and events
- Help with the daily operations of the athletic training room under supervision of staff certified athletic trainers
- Provide on-going hydration and athletic observation during athletic practices and events
- Assist with Athletic Training room maintenance, inventory and cleaning
- Occasional travel with team to away contests for gameday assistance as assigned
- Adhere to confidentiality guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to consistently lift 25 or more pounds at a time with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to be present most weekday afternoons and early evenings
- Able to carry supplies and maintain communication and focus for 2-3 hours at a time
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Ability to pay attention to detail and to work both independently or under supervision.
