Open Arms Community Health & Service Center helps Individuals and families get connected to Primary Care Physicians, Mental Health Support, Substance Use Prevention & Treatment, Group Therapy, Counseling, Peer Support and Community Support such as Housing. Our goal is to provide our community with a diverse group of professionals dedicated to providing quality healthcare, mental health services, substance use prevention, housing navigation, and a broad range of other vital services to our undeserved veterans, disabled, LBGTQ, Low Income, Justice Impacted, fleeing from domestic violence, homeless adults and youth in our community. Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role located in Los Angeles, CA for a Mental Health Therapist. The Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for providing therapy and counseling services to clients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and monitoring progress. They will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and provide support to individuals dealing with mental health challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- License as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Social Worker
- Experience in providing individual and group therapy
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, compassion, and the ability to establish trust with clients
- Understanding of ethical and legal guidelines in mental health
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other professionals
- Experience with electronic health records and documentation
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with current research and best practices
