SUMMARY:

Responsible for the branch warehouse operations moving materials, products, and shipments in and out of an industrial distribution warehouse. Performs various operations, such as unloading, picking, packing counting, and checking items to maintain inventory. Position reports to Warehouse Supervisor from corporate headquarters. Location – Midland, TX

• Ensures the verification of incoming shipments and the inspection of inbound materials occurs in accordance with policy.
• Expedite shipments from the receiving area and conduct workload assessments, shifting resources immediately based on priority.
• Expedite requests internally from multiple departments and multiple locations.
• Ensures the stocking of merchandise in designated areas.
• Locates, verifies, lifts, selects, counts, and inserts merchandise into appropriate containers for shipment using hand-held equipment such as a radio frequency scanner or by operating a forklift.
• Oversee the daily cycle count activity.
• Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management.
• Coordinates transfer of products between warehouse sites as needed which includes local customer pickups and deliveries, and shipment pickups and drop offs at SAIA freight facility.
• Operates inventory equipment such as an RF Scanners.
• Interact with Sales associates to understand customer-facing issues, explain company policies and practices, and negotiate appropriate solutions to their issues.
• Performs general cleaning duties to achieve warehouse and office appearance standards and safety requirements.
• Cooperates and interacts effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership through ongoing communication and exchange of information.
• Operates forklifts and other warehouse equipment according to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Secures warehouse by shutting down power, turning on alarms, locking facility or other actions as determined or assigned.
• Resolves internal and external Customer problems
• Abide by all company safety regulations.
• Other duties may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.

EDUCATION:

• Associates degree in logistics or equivalent field preferred, or four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Four (4) years’ experience in a distribution or manufacturing warehouse handling 100+ combined packages and LTL type shipments.
• Proficient in receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping functions of a warehouse.
• Familiarity with electronic manifesting systems (i.e. UPS, Worldship, and FedEx).
• Experience with STL freight carriers including packaging, manifesting, scheduling pickups, and damage reporting.
• Competent in using Wi-Fi or RF data collection devices.
• Forklift operation (standup, sit-down, picker), as well as pallet jacks, hand trucks and other warehouse machinery.

• Capable of managing and prioritizing workload effectively to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate mathematic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and problem solving.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately verbally and in writing for the intended purpose and audience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequently required to lift and place products weighing up to 50 pounds on pallets at various heights.
• Frequently move merchandise from warehouse stock and prepare products for deliveries.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry and walk throughout the warehouse.
• Ability to safely and properly operate powered industrial equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to general warehouse conditions including noise and temperature fluctuations. Availability to work outside normal business hours and on weekends as needed.
