Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintainance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers. Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience. One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Nice to Have Infrastructure Architecture: • Create architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and system design documents, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies. • Experience in developing future-state roadmaps, drive consensus, proof of concepts, demonstrating viable paths to modernizing applications to Cloud technologies • Infrastructure Architect should have experience related to web server and application server administration and web applications deployment experience • Experience in continuous review of current environment to detect deficiencies, recommend, plan and implement solutions for improvement. • Experience with automation utilizing Ansible, Cloud Native Solutions, Terraform, CloudFormation. FedRAMP, ZeroTrust Frameworks is a plus • Hands on understanding and working on AWS using CloudFormation Templates and develop automation scripts in C/C++, Python, Java, Groovy, PowerShell, and Bash is a plus • Utilize containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift to support scalable and flexible deployment options. • Experience in building DevOps and CI/CD pipeline. Build and support code pipelines, automate deployment activities, and maintain optimal system configurations for performance and reliability. Proven experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipeline setup, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD). • Ensure high availability of the IT systems through redundancy, containerization, clustering, and failover mechanisms, and implement disaster recovery plans with regular testing. • Actively participate in cross-functional teams, working closely with software engineers, IoT specialists, and cybersecurity teams to ensure infrastructure solutions are secure, efficient, and scalable. • Certifications in Service oriented architecture, TOGAF, Networking is a plus Why HII We build the world’s most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
