Apply locations A - 66 West 12th Street time type Full time posted on Posted 2 Days Ago job requisition id JR106398 The New School seeks a dedicated professional for the position of Senior Manager of Advancement Communications for the Development & Alumni Engagement (DAE) team at The New School, in partnership with the office of Marketing & Communications. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Outreach and Engagement, the Senior Manager advances the strategic goals of the DAE department by directing the processes of planning, producing, and distributing content that informs, celebrates, engages, and inspires philanthropy to The New School. By collaborating throughout the department and across the institution, the Senior Manager will provide the opportunity for deep constituent engagement and increased support from alumni, parents, and donors through email marketing communications, direct appeals, occasional print pieces, targeted advertising, and strategic partnerships. RESPONSIBILITIES Manages communications systems including the newschool.edu web pages for giving and alumni engagement, event registration sites, email marketing (Emma), donor giving portal (GiveCampus), alumni app (Graduway), planned giving communications and website, social media platforms. Assist the team with philanthropic campaigns (print and digital formats) for newsletters, alumni/donor events, reunions, planned giving, giving days, annual giving programs and direct mail. Support leadership in implementing content strategy, target messaging, and activation and engagement programs to advance DAE strategic goals, complementing The New School overall communications strategy. Oversees the provision of internal and external design, writing, editing, graphics, and production, in a range of media from traditional to state-of-the-art digital. Directs and optimizes social media engagement to build community with alumni, parents, and supporters using Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, The New School Network/Graduway and emerging digital channels. Maintains The New School Giving and Alumni sections of the newschool.edu website, updating content, and managing design and navigation projects with university partners. Assists with responding to general inbox emails for alumni, annual fund, and special events. Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience with a demonstrated record of advancement communications, development, and events promotion. Proven success implementing digital marketing and philanthropic campaigns. Demonstrated technology skills related to development, marketing, and events preferred (i.e. Salesforce, Adobe, Splash Event Marketing or comparable). Ability to set priorities, deal efficiently with multiple tasks, and meet frequent and evolving deadlines. A strong work ethic with an ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment, while effectively managing multiple projects. Some evenings and weekend hours are required. WORK MODE Hybrid - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
