Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team. This role is essential in providing high-quality legal counsel to clients navigating immigration processes. The attorney will work closely with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants to manage a range of cases, from removal defense to family-based immigration matters. This position is ideal for an attorney committed to advocacy and skilled in immigration law, who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Duties:
Provide strategic immigration counsel and guidance to clients.
Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
Conduct intakes and interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense cases.
Review immigration packets for accuracy and completeness, making adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
Meet with potential clients to offer consultations and develop case strategies.
Prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
Conduct thorough legal analysis to identify case benefits for clients.
Draft and submit legal briefs and supporting documents for diverse immigration cases.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in immigration law.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, offering strategic support to associates.
Proven case management skills, including a record of advancing cases effectively.
Proficiency with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, USCIS applications, and citizenship matters.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with case management software is advantageous.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the United States.
Certifications:
Must be licensed and in good standing with a U.S. State Bar Association.

High attention to detail in preparing legal documents and filing cases.
Strong analytical skills to develop case strategies and provide comprehensive legal analysis.
