A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and driven Entry Level Immigration Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience in immigration law and contribute to a fast-growing practice. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop their legal skills, manage cases, and collaborate with a team of seasoned attorneys and legal professionals.
Duties:
Provide legal guidance to clients on immigration matters, offering tailored solutions Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals Manage a varied caseload of immigration cases, ensuring progress and client satisfaction Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and more Review and refine immigration applications and petitions to ensure accuracy and compliance Engage with law enforcement, community organizations, and legal offices to stay updated on immigration law changes Meet with potential clients to conduct consultations, develop strategies, and assess possible immigration options Assist in preparing clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony Provide legal analysis to identify benefits or risks in individual cases Draft legal briefs for submission in various immigration-related matters Requirements:
0 to 3 years of experience in immigration law Strong team player who is open to collaboration and mutual support with colleagues Preferred bilingual (English/Spanish), but not required Exceptional interpersonal communication skills Proven ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward efficiently Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS applications Familiarity with case management software is a plus Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Admission to the State Bar of California (or eligible for admission) Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in California (or eligible for admission) Skills:
