Position Focus: This combined role is a dual report to the Title IX Office and the Office of Institutional Equity & Accessibility (OIEA). The Title IX Office is a resource for the entire Yale community, consulting with members about concerns related to sex discrimination, including sexual misconduct, harassment based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and pregnancy status.
Reporting to the Senior Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the Associate Director will coordinate all aspects of the University’s Title IX program within the graduate and professional schools, responding to inquiries and concerns, coordinating accommodations, and participating in education and prevention programs.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of OIEA, the Associate Director is responsible for managing investigations of alleged violations of University policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment, supporting the University’s Accommodation Program, and preparing training for Yale employees.
Essential Duties :
Reviews alleged violations of university policy against discrimination and harassment to determine appropriate resolution processes.
Facilitates alternative dispute resolution options to resolve violations of the university’s policy.
Consults with campus colleagues to address protected-class-based behavior and support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Represents the department to constituencies on and off campus and provides training for the Yale community.
Facilitates disability and religious accommodation programs.
Addresses complaints of ADA non-compliance and evaluates accessibility barriers.
Consults on complex disability accommodation matters.
Reviews accommodation denial decisions that result in allegations of discrimination.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and five years of demonstrated experience in a human resources field at the professional level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
