This Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Advisor, Strategic Communications to join our dynamic team. As part of Palladium's ARBP Center of Technical Excellence (CoTE), the Senior Advisor will develop and implement a strategic communications strategy focused on positioning Palladium for work with key clients. This will involve working with different sector portfolio leads to identify and communicate key differentiators to strengthen our position. Location and Compensation: The position is based in Palladium's Washington D.C. office. For our prospective employees in the United States, please note that the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $102,000 to $150,000, and successful candidates may also be eligible for additional, variable incentive compensation dependent on the role. Please be advised that a final salary offer will be based on various factors, including but not limited to your qualifications, education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and Palladium's business or organizational needs. Reporting Lines: The STA will report to the Senior Director, CoTE. The position will not oversee additional staff to start, however that is subject to change as needs are assessed. The STA will work closely with other leaders in the Americas Regional Business Partnership to ensure their needs are met. Primary Roles and Responsibilities: This role is within Palladium's Center of Technical Excellence and directly aligns to its vision: To support our practices and portfolios throughout the business cycle while facilitating learning and exchange and harnessing and disseminating innovation. The STA has two main functions: ARBP strategic communications strategy development and implementation, and specific strategic communications for priority bids. ARBP Strategic Communications Strategy Development and Implementation Develop a Strategic Communications Strategy for the ARBP given prioritized pipeline of business development opportunities and Palladium differentiators. This includes identifying key messaging, audiences, channels and strategic opportunities for advancing awareness, ownership, and scaling of key project outputs. Oversee execution of the Strategic Communications Strategy, including reporting on progress against key metrics. Work together with Palladium's technical portfolios and strategic growth team to support implementation of the Strategy. This includes providing strategic advice to internal clients on communications matters including identifying opportunities for proactive, high-impact communications and outreach (reports, industry insights, pitch materials, multi-media packages, stories, notes, case studies, blogs, etc.) that highlight Palladium's impact and successful implementation approaches. Plan and moderate learning sessions to share lessons learned and good practices on Strategy execution. Pivot strategy approaches as needed. Collaborate with the Palladium global communications and knowledge management team to leverage global knowledge. Create and implement an external events strategy; identifying key learning events and other opportunities to share Palladium differentiators. Develop (as part of the Strategic Communications Strategy) Palladium's Communication and Outreach Guidance for bids, and update this on a quarterly basis. Facilitate internal capacity strengthening activities in communications and outreach - including development of curriculum and training materials - and facilitating training. Facilitate staff development and peer learning across Palladium practices, programs, and country offices in communications and outreach. Support communications to support reputational risk and issue management. Specific Strategic Communications for Priority Bids Develop communication and outreach plans for priority bids - collaborate with proposal teams on identifying key audiences to target, developing communications materials and outreach events that highlight Palladium win themes and ultimately lead to strengthened positioning for specific opportunities. Participate in bid specific strategy meetings to proactively identify positioning needs, budget estimates and inputs required. Essential Criteria: Demonstrated expertise developing and implementing successful strategic communications strategies. Proven experience developing and disseminating high level communications pieces that highlight organizational results tailored for different audiences. Experience successfully organizing and facilitating high level outreach events. Demonstrated success in positioning an organization for client funded opportunities. Experience in a client-centered role with high levels of client satisfaction. Exceptional English writing, editing, and presentation skills. Proven leadership and managerial skills and ability to work effectively in a matrixed, dynamic and multicultural environment to foster innovation and drive solutions. Understanding of USAID and USG priorities, with experience framing messaging appropriately and the ability to navigate complex or politically sensitive organizations. Experience providing advice and guidance to staff on executing high quality communications. Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills. Excellent people skills with high emotional intelligence and ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders, including experience working with diverse teams in a global context. Experience in communicating complex technical concepts in a clear, compelling, and concise manner and developing messages that are accessible to a wide range of audiences. Ability to deliver quality communications output while working under stress and juggling multiple tasks on tight deadlines. Ability to learn, adapt, and to be innovative as new communications challenges arise. Flawless integrity and unquestionable commitment to the Palladium's mission and values. Desirable Criteria: Written and spoken fluency in an additional language other than English, particularly Spanish or French. Experience in a senior communications role in a private sector company with a regional or global reach.
