Location New York, New York Shift: Day (United States of America) Description: Technical Architect Information Technology Infrastructure Position Summary The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of cloud computing concepts, emerging technologies and platforms within the Cloud space. They will be able to design and architect and deploy solutions of different complexities within Azure using terraform the Azure CLI /API. The senior cloud engineer will be expected have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of the cloud engineering team and an ongoing impact on the use and growth of the Cloud at New York Presbyterian. Essential Job Duties Ability to deploy cloud environments in a secure manner using provisioning tools like terraform while working within established governance and standards. Comfortable working with Azure CLI, Kusto queries, and scripting languages like Shell or python. Participate in designing and deploying Azure solutions based on requirements provided by different teams using various types of services within Azure. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures. Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs Ability to comfortably make recommendations and facilitate implementation of effective solutions; Act as "Trusted Advisor". Reviews application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identifies when it is necessary to modify the solution's architecture to accommodate project needs. Interfaces and coordinates tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation plans. Collaborate with technology teams in identifying functional and technical and requirements in the evaluation, analysis, and design of large scale Cloud Based solutions. Provide technical leadership on projects in working with diverse teams across varying disciplines Understand business drivers, assess multiple and cost-effective technology solutions and foster cloud adoption. Follow change management procedures as per departmental standards. Monitor applications and/or infrastructure post implementation in production. "Requires on-site presence; therefore, should live within a commutable distance. No relocation assistance available." Preferred Criteria: Major in Computer Science or related discipline Proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role in Azure Very good knowledge of Terraform and azure CLI Basic Azure AAD / Entra ID (RBAC / Groups /Service Principals) Basic Devops (Git / Repos) Monitor And Alerting in Azure Securing Azure for PHI & PII (Private Endpoints, Network isolation, Remove Public Access, encryption, etc.) Basic SQL Skills Good understanding of Networking in the cloud Azure Machine Learning Environments Azure Databricks Python and Powershell scripting languages Ability to make recommendations for cost efficiencies Healthcare Industry Knowledge and Hospital Operations Required Criteria: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ related discipline or related work experience 6-8 years 6- 8 years of related work experience Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
