Job Description
The purpose of the Machine Operator position is to aid in the manufacture of components and subassemblies within the machine shop by using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and machine tools. The Machine Operator reads blueprints and uses measurement devices (caliper, micrometer, and tape measure) to ensure that parts comply with the blueprint, which will allow successful assembly of the final product at the customer’s site.
Responsibilities- QC parts using measurement devices while reading blueprints
- Operate CNC lathes and mills as well as other tools to produce parts
- Learn skills of the manufacturing trade and retain information that is taught
- Familiar with calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to perform accurate measurements to part specifications
- Operate, load, and unload CNC mills, lathes, saws, and conventional machines
- Deburr parts with belt sander, drill press, or bench grinder
- Read blueprints and QC own parts
- Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished product
- Assemble parts into sub-units or complete units as required
- Have authority and responsibility to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
- Follow safe manufacturing and material handling practices with adherence to PPE requirements
- Follow written and verbal details to complete assignments
- Understand and adhere to company 5S standards
- Understand and adhere to employee handbook standards
- Accurately record labor times and adhere to productivity standards
- Compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work with management team to communicate all problems or ideas for improvement
- Support and participate in continuous improvement programs
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- 1+ year experience with CNC Machine Operation is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, saws, and conventional machines
- Ability to deburr parts with belt sander, drill press, or bench grinder
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Lathe experience
- Setup experience with CNC machines
- Entry Level – 1+ years Experience needed, skills will be taught as required

Work EnvironmentWorking conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air. The role requires heavy work (lifting greater than 30 pounds) and the ability to carry 50 lbs. for 100 feet unassisted. Machinery operation requires the use of safety PPE equipment including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe shoes, and hardhats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility with the ability to stand for 8 hours per day. The position requires proper coordination and motor skills to work with power/hand tools as needed. Shifts available: 1st shift (7 am - 3:30 pm) and 2nd shift (3:30 pm - 12 am).
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tamarac, Florida.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
