Job Summary:
The Sr. Project Manager position, reporting directly to the Sr. Project Manager/ PM Manager, is responsible for serving as an organizational leader for planning and executing the cross-functional execution of one or more complex projects within a clinical, technical, or business area of Terumo Medical Corporation (TMC). The Sr. Project Manager will have developed a strong understanding of the clinical needs and business requirements of the area of projects they are managing. The Sr. Project Manager is accountable for leading and facilitating the activities of cross-functional project team members to achieve the overall attainment of project performance, cost, and schedule objectives, sometimes within the context of a larger program. Salary range: $116,200 - $174,200
Job Details:
Serve as an organizational leader in the cross-functional execution of one or more complex projects within a clinical, technical or business area of TMC.
Manage and oversee the execution of projects in accordance with TMC processes and procedures assuring the completion of all project requirements in accordance with them.
Provide a strong understanding of the needs and business requirements of the area they are managing.
Lead the cross-functional development of detailed project schedule and resourcing plans to achieve project objectives.
Implement appropriate advanced project management tools and techniques to drive project execution to include detailed project planning and scheduling, project budgeting and expense management, and capital equipment expense estimation and justification.
Interact with Executive Management; conduct 1:1 stakeholder meetings, prepare presentations and formally present project update and reviews.
Plan and lead cross-functional project team meetings and prepare action items and status updates/minutes for such meetings and reviews.
Serve as mentor to Associate Project Manager(s) or Project Manager(s) within the department or assigned to their teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
This position will be located in either Terumo facility in Elkton, MD or Somerset, NJ. The position will perform required duties mainly in an office environment. Access to hospitals and hospital operating rooms may be required to meet with clinicians and observe relevant clinical procedures associated with new product development projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs). To succeed in the Sr. Project Manager position, candidates should possess the following KSAs:
Required: Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated performance in global cross-functional project leadership positions
Required: Demonstrated understanding of the clinical/technical needs and business requirements of the area of projects they are managing.
Required: Strong and demonstrated understanding of advanced project management tools and techniques to include proficiency in MS Project and simultaneous management of multiple projects within a Stage-Gate process.
Required: Demonstrated leadership of effective global project team meetings, reviews and activities.
Required: For Design Control projects - Extensive experience in the development of global Medical Devices in accordance with global regulatory and quality standards and requirements.
Background Experiences. The following candidate background experiences are desired:
BS in Engineering or other related technical field; advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
Demonstrated ability to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and translate them into detailed project plans and timelines using MS Project.
Demonstrated understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the cross-functional activities needed to successfully develop and transfer new products to manufacturing and release for commercialization.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7 or more years of project management experience.
