Benefits Specialist I
to contribute their expertise in providing essential business services to our provider organizations and customers. The
Benefits Specialist I
supports the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits. This role ensures accurate benefits enrollment, answers employee inquiries, and assists in the development and implementation of benefits policies and procedures.
In this role, you will be
Benefits Administration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee and supervisor inquiries regarding benefits, leaves, and issue resolution. Process benefits enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life events in HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with benefits vendors to resolve issues and ensure accurate eligibility information. Employee Support:
Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries about benefits plans, eligibility, claims, and related issues. Conduct Human Resources & Benefits Orientations for new hires and newly benefits-eligible staff in the absence of the Benefits and Wellness Program Manager. Facilitate leave-of-absence requests among staff, managers, and third-party administrators, coordinating with Payroll for accurate timekeeping and leave tracking. Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain and update employee benefits records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Interpret and ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations, including FMLA, NYS-STD, NYS-PFL, Workers' Compensation, and ADA as they relate to leaves of absence and disabilities. Approve benefit enrollments and ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other relevant regulations. Benefits Communication:
Assist in developing and distributing benefits communication materials, such as plan summaries, newsletters, and announcements. Collaborate with the HR team to update and maintain benefits information on the company intranet and other platforms. Project Support:
Participate in benefits-related projects, including annual open enrollment, benefits audits, and vendor evaluations. Support the implementation of new benefits programs and initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of an associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldwork experience, or equivalent education and a minimum of 2 years in a benefits administration work experience (

) Certification in CEBS, SHRM-CP, or PHR is preferred. Additional Requirements
Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings. Valid NYS Driver's License and acceptable driving record to travel for business. (CCSI does not accept conditional status driver's licenses as acceptable to drive for business.) Some travel is required for open enrollment and other benefit and Wellness@Work initiatives. Occasional meetings with staff or departments may also be necessary. We Are
