What you bring to the table
Beck is looking for a talented
Staff Accountant
to join our team in
Dallas, Texas . A person in this role will play an integral part in supporting the accounting department. We are looking for an accountable, critical thinking, and goal-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The job involves the following essential functions and responsibilities: Prepare miscellaneous journal entries Reconcile and maintain fixed asset purchases, disposals, and depreciation schedules Reconcile bank accounts monthly Calculate bad debt expense, record the entries, and maintain the reconciliation Maintain prepaid expense records and coding Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly Manage operating and finance leases including entry and reconciliation within ASC 842 guidelines Assist project teams with job cost department changes The ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with others Strong abilities in setting objectives and goals, establishing priorities, allocating resources, and anticipating future requirements Assist with external audit documentation A "Team-Player" with a can-do attitude, cooperation with supervisors and fellow employees, and performs the function with the utmost professionalism Who we think will be a great fit
An analytical problem-solver with an understanding of accounting and business administration functions and who also possesses uncompromising authenticity, integrity, a positive attitude, and a passion for learning and taking the initiative to get things done. This person has the ability to work under pressure, at times, as a collaborative team player. You will also meet the following requirements:
Minimum of 23+ years of related experience, proficiency in General Ledger reconciliation a plus Associates Degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred; Experience in lieu of a college degree will be considered Construction industry experience a plus Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Proficient in the use of computer spreadsheet software and related applications, (Excel VLookups and Pivot Tables) is a plus Experience with CMiC (accounting system) or comparable Accounting software is a plus Effective written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills A "Team-Player" with a can-do attitude, cooperation with supervisors and fellow employees, performs the function with the utmost professionalism Physical Demands:
Frequently required to sit, stand, and move about the office; frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently lift and move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and move up to fifty pounds; constantly communicates with project and operations teams, Beck employees, and external vendors; ability to adhere to timely and consistent attendance.
