About the role
Reporting to the Vice-President, Human Resources - South Region, the Director Human Resources is a key leadership position within the South HR Team; this role will drive process excellence, standardization, and focuses on continuous improvement in HR across the Region. In addition this role will provide leadership and execution support to the site-based HR Management team within the region with 4+ direct reports. This role is remote and can be located in FL, VA or MD with approximately 50% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with business leaders to help drive a high-performance culture by ensuring the right talent, in the right roles, delivering high quality results with a focus on improving diversity equity and inclusion. Provide guidance, support, and development to the team of South HR Managers & Generalists based at our sites. Implement short-term and long-term people strategies to drive business growth and results. Support key HR processes including talent development, succession planning, talent acquisition, performance management, and compensation planning with expertise from the HR Centers of Excellence (COE). Create standardized process and documentation for our South HR processes including employee relations, talent acquisition, approvals, and compensation. Drive organizational effectiveness and change initiatives. Create an environment of positive employee relations; balance business needs with employee needs, establish trust and credibility with employees and be seen as approachable and fair. Understand and analyze trends and metrics; develop and implement solutions, programs and policies in partnership with HR COEs. Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required. Identify learning and development needs in client base and identify/ recommend solutions as needed. Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of HR experience Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred Experience in successful resolution of employee relations matters Experience in complex, matrixed organizations Experience supporting multiple facilities/sites Experience leading remote teams Expected Skills/Behaviors for Success:
Strong working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, talent acquisition, employee relations, diversity, talent management, talent development, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws. A self-starter; identifies opportunities and offers solutions to problems. Excellent client management and business acumen. Ability to effectively influence and drive accountability. Strong project management skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Develops strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. Demonstrated continuous improvement focus. Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels. Take initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation. Approximately 50% travel Physical Demands
