Job Description
The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York City is seeking a highly motivated, team-spirited veterinarian who is board certified or board eligible in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation to join our wonderful team of rehabilitation certified practitioners and residents. You will not find a hospital that practices a higher level of medicine while fostering camaraderie and dedication to patient care than AMC.
Our team is led by a board-certified diplomate (DACVSMR), 3 certified rehabilitation practitioners, and 2 rehabilitation certified resident veterinarians pursuing board certification. Our equipment and capabilities comprise 2 under water treadmills, Hakomed hydrotub, digatherm, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, photobiomodualtion (3 units), therapeutic ultrasound, NMES, TENS, mesenchymal stem cell therapy, PRP, and objective gait analysis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, in addition to standard exercise equipment.
Successful candidates must be rehabilitation certified (CCRT/CCRP) and board certified or board eligible (DACVSMR). Candidates with additional certification in pain management (CVPM) and/or acupuncture (CVA) are ideal. The candidate must be a team player with great communication skills.
Clinical duties include:- Primary case management (evaluation, diagnostic work-up, treatment and follow-up).
- Teaching (rotating interns, residents, extern students and veterinarians seeking rehab and/or acupuncture certification).
- Conducting research leading to peer review publication.
- In addition, candidates are expected to deliver lectures every other month to residents and interns and routinely at local and national conferences.
