Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant, providing a positive first impression and friendly demeanor.
- Manage the reservation system efficiently, including taking reservations, confirming bookings, and organizing seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times, table availability, and any special requests or accommodations needed.
- Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth seating and dining transitions.
- Assist in managing the guest waiting list during peak dining hours, prioritizing reservations and walk-in guests appropriately.
- Monitor dining room activity and anticipate guest needs, proactively addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Provide accurate information about the restaurant, including menus, specials, promotions, and upcoming events.
- Collaborate with the restaurant team to uphold high standards of service, cleanliness, and hospitality.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the host/hostess station, organizing menus, and restocking supplies.
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational abilities, including time management, multitasking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy dining periods.
- Knowledge of reservation systems and basic computer skills for managing bookings and guest information.
- Enthusiasm for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
