Job Summary:
- By following all safety protocols and procedures, perform work associated with the coating application and production paint process. Responsibilities may include lifting and loading items, touch up of painted parts, cleaning and maintaining equipment. Respiratory testing and the training/fitting of respiratory mask is required immediately upon hire.
- Load and unload materials, moving parts and equipment.
- Clean, sand and coat parts on a moving monorail system using electronic and air powered equipment and tools, paint scrapers and electrostatic paint guns.
- Clean and maintain work area, parts and equipment.
- Provide routine assistance and support.
- Make adjustments to paint booth, guns and all equipment in the environment room following proper procedures and PPE.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and within specifications.
- Ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations.
- Communicate with production, maintenance, quality, warehouse and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
- Complete daily check lists assigned by Leads and other Supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and crawl around and under equipment.
- Work is performed standing on concrete for eight hours or more with frequent bending, twisting and turning.
- H.S diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years industrial painting experience preferred.
- Experience operating electronic spraying equipment is preferred.
- Must be able to wear a respirator which is required.
- Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to safely climb and descend stairs.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and operate a computer.
- Must be able to work in areas where toxic, flammable and hazardous materials are present.
- Must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors.
