Job Description
Position is under the supervision of the Waste Water Treatment Plant Superintendent. This position performs all maintenance duties necessary for the removal, installation, and maintenance of industrial electrical/electronic equipment and devices. Performs related duties as required. This position works independently as directed to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process equipment. Must be knowledgeable of standard work practices and procedures including work control, special process controls and safety practices. Must report equipment problems, concerns, or failures to appropriate personnel.

Typical Duties
- May work independently, oversee the work of others, supervise, train, or work as part of team of plant electrician/electronics system technicians maintaining the reliable operation of equipment typically found in a modern wastewater treatment facility
- Notifies appropriate supervisory and operations personnel of necessary downtime associated with projects that disrupt normal plant operations.
- Maintains maintenance work records, updates maintenance history database, requisitions parts and materials, and uses computers as required.
- Performs preventative maintenance and minor mechanical procedures and incidental work related to electrical/electronic maintenance.
- Cleans work area including stairs, equipment, floors, and conveyor systems and picking up trash; performing general grounds-keeping duties throughout the plant; including assistance in snow removal, as needed.
- Operates various electronic test and measuring devices such as a volt ohmmeter, oscilloscope, calibrator, line tester, RF power meter
- One (1) year of experience installing and repairing electrical equipment in an industrial environment.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Possession of an electrician's license at the Journeyman Level.
- The physical requirement of this position includes; stand, sit, and bend at the waist and knees; working in small areas and doing manual labor for extended periods of time.
- Climb stairs, work on suspended machinery and equipment at heights to one hundred (100) feet and climb and work from ladders.
- Successfully pass a respirator physical.
- Work in inclement weather such as snow, cold, rain, heat, humidity, sun, etc.
- Hear and see plant alarm devices and to communicate effectively in writing and verbal, including when using communications devices such as two-way radios, telephones and pagers.
- Lift up to fifty (50) pounds repetitively and exert a minimum of 100 pounds of force.
