Electrician for 2nd shift

Job Summary:

Electrician is responsible for the diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing, installing and repairing of equipment, parts, and systems in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining extruders, boilers, presses, mills, and the overall care of the plant.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Maintain machines and plant equipment including but not limited to extruders, presses, mills, boilers, fans, and motors.
• Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Codes, OSHA and standard industry safety rules and regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replace defective parts.
• Move equipment and machinery.
• Monitor boiler operation and perform adjustments as needed.
• Maintain consistent communication with production personnel in regard to changes and repairs.
• Preform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, write, and follow directions in regard to SOP's, management instructions, and other job-related instructions.

• Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to self-manage, prioritize, multi-task and work under deadlines.
• Ability to perform manual tasks under varying temperatures conditions in usually an indoor manufacturing environment.
• Ability to transport and deliver a wide variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to work with a variety of equipment including but not limited to forklifts, man lifts, computers, grinders, welders cutting torch, drills, and other metalworking tools to fabricate and assemble parts as needed
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Semi-moderate to moderate physical activity.
  • Including but not limited to sitting, standing, hand/arm manipulation, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, seeing, touching/feeling, hearing, and crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two years of relevant experience and or/ training that includes installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and mechanical equipment, HVAC maintenance, or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Technical degree preferred
• Ability to pass standardized maintenance aptitude test
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
