Design Engineer
Overview:
Fulfilling Department of State's (DOS)requirementto provide best-in-class technical security engineering, design, installation, maintenance, repair, and project management services in support of the U.S. Department of State (the Department or DOS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Office of Security Technology (ST). We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. In this role you will get to design, engineer and use processes and tools associated with design engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Works closely with other Designer/Drafters and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design.
- Applies standard design principles and theories to complete assignments.
- Utilizes technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.
- Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
- Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
- Reads and understands orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.
- Makes required changes, additions, and/or revisions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering field
- Experience with CAD software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Completes highly technical and complex design assignments generally utilizing 3D CAD methods.
- Performs specialized design computations and analysis.
- Performs reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Security Clearance:
- Possess a SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals.

The physical demands that will be required inside the workplace and for the position. Must lift, will sit, answer the phone, type on a keyboard, move files, etc.
