SMT Process Engineer

A well-established Electronic Engineering and Manufacturing company that specializes in Circuit Card Assembly, integration, and test is looking for a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Process Engineer to join their team in the Seymour, CT office. The SMT Process Engineer will work with other engineers, internally and with the customer, and will be responsible for preparing, implementing and monitoring the processes of SMT equipment including programming printers, SPI, pick and place, reflow oven and AOI. They may need to debug and reflow oven profiles, inspect solder using J STD and class 1-3 IPC standards, and review 2D and 5DX xray images. They will write pre and post build DFM reports, and program label creation/Barcodes. Candidates will need to have excellent communication, troubleshooting capabilities, and Xray programming knowledge is a plus.

Required Skills & Experience

Associates or BS in Electrical Engineering or similar

5+ years' Electrical Engineering for PCB/circuit boards, ideally at a contract manufacturer

Working experience with Circuit card and box build assemblies, Gerber layers, and stencils

AutoCAD or Solidworks Experience

Excellent communication

Understanding of Lean manufacturing principals

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Xray Programming Knowledge
