The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks to hire Interns to join our team of admissions professionals. The positions are full time, temporary employment opportunities that run from January 2, 2025 through April 25, 2025. Work hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.
The ideal candidate is outgoing and friendly with strong public speaking and organization skills. Interns will join a service-oriented, fast-paced environment and should be comfortable interacting with a wide variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. They will assist with application processing and data updates. Interns may be the first point of contact for prospective students and their parents. Interns will assist with planning programs for admitted students and may be called upon to interact with faculty members and campus partners throughout the planning process. Depending on the applicant's prior experience, there will be opportunities for extended public speaking assignments, data analysis, social media content development, or other independent projects. Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
None required beyond education. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
Preference will be given to Duke graduates and/or applicants with 1-3 years of prior college admissions experience who have an awareness of the needs of a highly selective, private research institution.
Position may require 1-2 occasional weekend commitments in April.
