8679 Project Engineer-Electrical & Controls Oregon area

Our Automation & Digitalization division is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer-Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our Eugene, OR team. This position would be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, innovative electrical and control engineering projects that improve plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American Mill customers.

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with customers and coworkers to solve the customer's operational challenges and support their system upgrade projects;
  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades;
  • Design industrial LV and MV electrical power systems, including equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, cable and raceway sizing and layouts, and electrical room design;
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.
  • Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system and network architecture, and instrumentation systems;
  • Design control strategies to optimize performance, and program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications;
  • Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical or automation engineering- P.E. ideal
  • Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset; DCS programming, FactoryTalk, Rockwell Suite
  • Experience in pulp & paper; mining and/or chemical industries an asset;
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team;
  • Site audit, commissioning, construction, and start-up experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English);
  • Legally entitled to work in the US;
  • Ability and willingness to travel to regional customer sites.
