The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager is responsible for all related activities and audits in adherence with regulatory standards at this location. Specific job requirements include the following:

The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager is responsible for all related activities and audits in adherence with regulatory standards at this location. Specific job requirements include the following:
DUTIES
Functional Responsibility & Authority:
- Lead the effort and collaborate with corporate management, supervision and employees on maintaining a sustainable safety culture within the manufacturing facility in concert with Company goals and objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring all Safety and Regulatory training is conducted, documented, and effective.
- Conduct training on Process Safety Management (PSM), HM126F, Respirator, Electrical, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous Waste, Emergency Response, etc.
- Coordinate and/or conduct training in Hazard Communication, Forklift, Emergency Contingency Plans, etc.
- Review all accidents and assist location management in investigating accidents and/or near misses and developing corrective action plans to correct.
- Ensure the site is in compliance with all regulatory requirements through training, audits, etc.
- Conduct proper internal safety/regulatory audits for each site on an annual basis.
- Provide oversight in completing and updating PSM manuals, Lockout/Tagout information, and emergency contingency plans.
- Assist with Emergency Response situations that occur within the Plant or the Community or as needed.
- Support and participate in safety meetings and safety committee meetings at each site and at Corporate functions.
- Ensure all Plant facility monitoring reports required are completed and forwarded to the proper agency.
- Ensure regulatory programs such PSM, RMP, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, Hot Work Permit, Confined Space, and DHS site security plans and other programs, as applicable, are in place and functioning.
- Ensure the corporate office is notified of all regulatory inspections and that any discrepancies noted during the inspection are corrected.
- Able to lead continuous improvement processes in different aspects of the plant.
- Other responsibilities as designated by management
- Manage the location worker's compensation program, following the company's processes and procedures in reporting and addressing any workplace injury, if it occurs.
- Supervise the maintenance of all safety data sheets (SDS's) to ensure they are up-to-date and readily accessible at all times.
- Prepare and submit all required environmental reports in a timely manner.
- Serve as designated leader of the facility safety team and works with the Plant Manager and maintenance manager/first line supervisors to achieve facility and company objectives.
- Plant resource to local and state agencies.
- Assist Human Resource (HR) in new employee onboarding process, substance abuse program, and employee return-to-work program.
General Qualifications:
- College degree in Safety, Health, Environmental, Industrial Engineering or related field; and a minimum of five plus years of EHS experience in a heavy manufacturing industry that must comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Ability to interface and communicate in a professional manner with diverse employee groups including management, first line supervision, and plant level employees.
- Computer skills sufficient to efficiently perform the job requirements - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Auto-Cad a plus.
- Ability to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques used for continual quality improvement
