Job Description
We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team in West Hartford, CT. The role involves Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Conduction (EMC), Lightning, and Environmental (ENV) activities. This is a great opportunity to work hands-on and cross-functionally in a leading aerospace company.
Responsibilities
Our Client is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, the company employs approximately 530 employees. The key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares market. The work environment offers opportunities to interact with various departments such as Quality and Supply Chain. The position may require working in a testing lab and offsite locations. Employees can participate in regular employee appreciation events throughout the year.

Job Description
We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team in West Hartford, CT. The role involves Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Conduction (EMC), Lightning, and Environmental (ENV) activities. This is a great opportunity to work hands-on and cross-functionally in a leading aerospace company.
Responsibilities
- Generate EMI, EMC, Lightning, and ENV test procedures.
- Write technical reports and work with various lab equipment including meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, amplifiers, antennas, injection cores, and data acquisition systems.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers and team members.
- Perform multiple tests independently, either onsite or offsite.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers across multiple disciplines, including Systems, Electrical Design, Project, and Program Office.
- Present data to internal and external customers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; an Associate's Degree may be considered.
- More than 3 years of relevant EMI, EMC, Lightning, and ENV test and documentation experience.
- Experience with electronics, schematic diagrams, schematic design, and engineering change.
- Knowledge of EMI, EMC, and Lightning Standards in RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, and ENV Standards in RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD 810.
- Familiarity with electromagnetic analysis software, radio frequency identification, and radio frequency.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe, and Nuance.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and technical writing skills.
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal and team skills.
- Willing to travel, with possible overnight stays at offsite test locations (up to 20% annually).
- Experience with DO-160 or Mil STD 461 highly preferred.
- Ability to generate EMI Control Plans and EMI, EMC, Lightning Test Procedures.
- Experience with LabVIEW and customized scripts.
- Prior aerospace experience is preferred.
