HF Sinclair is seeking a Business Partner – Information Technology who provides partnership, direction, and guidance to a specific business community or communities to ensure that business goals are met through the effective provision of technology solutions and services. The Business Partner (BP) – Information Technology (IT) engages with the key stakeholders in the business organization to develop and agree on medium to long-term strategic plans and capability roadmaps, ensuring alignment with HollyFrontier objectives. He/she acts as the trusted business advisor providing oversight and guidance to enable the successful delivery of specific projects and influences the delivery of IT services. The BP also actively markets and promotes IT services and ensures that the demand for these is managed and prioritized effectively. The key to success as this BP is a broad knowledge of relevant business division technologies and trends and compelling communication to business leadership on how this enables future business capability. Another key to success is the ability to leverage the IT organization to drive successful delivery, considerate of local needs and global direction. Job Duties
Influence a global matrix organization and coordinate both regional and global stakeholders. Promote a business-focused, results-oriented technical culture within IT in support of the business. Exhibit an expert understanding of functional procurement disciplines and technical IT knowledge (applications, analytics, hardware, software, security, etc.) to identify opportunities to leverage information technology to achieve business objectives and assist in deployment. Ability to evaluate, recommend, roadmap and drive changes to current and future system requirements to meet global business organizational needs. Possess deep knowledge of the IT industry for that business, best practice, business and incumbent functional area in order to be a trusted business advisor for the Functional Leaders in the region. Provide strategic consulting for large, cross-boundary and/or “first-of-a-kind” projects within the function. Drive strategic business value and innovation. Build and maintain strong relationships with the HollyFrontier Business leadership. Act as owner of IT for functional or geographic area and liaison between IT teams and the business. Partner at a strategic level with business stakeholders to communicate successes, demonstrate IT value and appropriate governance of IT activities. Leverage common solutions and innovative technologies. Develop, share, and leverage best practices across IT region and shares with other regions. Generate Regional/Functional organization and talent. Develop and maintain a broad business understanding. Maintain up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies. Manage services provided to business through existing and new technology. Gather business needs and gain alignment between business needs and technical capabilities, engaging with Business Analysts and Enterprise Architects. Capture demand via the agreed process, provide recommendations for prioritization, and oversee program and project initiatives. Manage business expectations with business stakeholders based on IT resource availability. Promote business projects and their value to the IT leaders and community. Experience
10 plus years of IT experience or relevant functional business and process expertise appropriate to the role is required. Experience in strategic decision-making and successful influencing at the leadership level is required. Previous experience with, and exposure to, SAP technology and processes is required. Experience building and communicating future business plans and capabilities along with being able to provide insights into the technologies needed for delivery is required. Preferred Experience:
Financial acumen to support business case creation and measurement is highly preferred. Broad knowledge of the specific business’s technologies and capabilities. Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the organization including suppliers, partners and customers. Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred Education Level: Master’s Degree preferred. Required Skills
Project or program management experience in dealing with medium or large projects. Previous experience in working in various IT-related Business roles. Prior Consulting experience in IT or in the related Business area. Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory. Physical Requirements
