As a Staff Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving product growth and improving user engagement metrics. Working closely with Product Managers, you will design and execute data-driven strategies that enhance user experience, increase subscriptions, and reduce churn. You will lead high-impact projects and provide actionable insights based on robust analytics and experimentation, directly influencing millions of dollars in business outcomes. The role requires expertise in A/B testing, defining metrics, and optimizing product workflows for consumer tech. Key Responsibilities:
Growth & Engagement: Optimize user experiences to drive subscription growth and retention. Influence key metrics like engagement, retention, churn, MAU, DAU, and user acquisition. Partner with Product Managers to design, launch, and optimize features. Define metrics and KPIs for tracking feature performance. Implement A/B testing frameworks to validate hypotheses and measure success. Data Insights: Provide actionable insights that drive user growth and engagement. Lead high-stakes projects with measurable business value. Stakeholder Management: Serve as a strategic partner to Product Managers, ensuring alignment on goals and outcomes. Skills and Experience:
Ideal Candidate Profile: Background: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a data science role. Experience in product analytics or data science at leading consumer tech brands. Proven focus on growth, engagement, and retention (not marketing science). Track record of delivering high-impact projects with clear outcomes. Technical Skills: Expertise in SQL. Strong experience in A/B testing and experimentation. Deep understanding of Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies. Familiarity with metrics like MAU/DAU and churn reduction techniques. Knowledge of consumer tech workflows (e.g., features like Instagram Reels). Business impact-driven approach. Clear communicator of data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
