A strong candidate is innovative, energetic, a self-starter, and a strong collaborator who would be adept at negotiating relationships between various constituencies at the school, as well as outside vendors.
Qualifications
A distinct fondness for young children
Minimum 3 years experience in related communications or marketing field preferred
Excellent organizational, writing, editing, and data-collection skills
Ability to think strategically about communications objectives and how to meet those objectives
A creative mind that can utilize out of the box thinking to ideate and execute various media campaigns
Knowledge of web content management systems
Familiarity and dexterity with social media platforms, including Facebook, X, and Instagram
Familiarity with Google Suite
Familiarity with digital marketing concepts (SEO, SEM, SMM)
Basic photography and videography skills
Experience with large scale event planning preferred
Strategic communications planning & management
Partner with Giving & Community Engagement, Enrollment & Family Commitment, Alumni Relations, and IT to seek new media opportunities to enhance the visibility of the school’s academic programs, fundraising initiatives, students, faculty, and alumni
Develop creative strategies to promote the school’s vision via relevant channels
Partner with Director of Giving & Community Engagement to plan, promote, and execute a Spring Benefit
Partner with Board Members and/or Transition Committee to successfully turnover the role of Head of School
Publications
Partner with internal departments and external vendors to oversee production of all school publications, including digital advertising, admissions brochures, the school handbook, and Annual Fund solicitation
Write, edit, and oversee production and distribution of two weekly newsletters to Caedmon families
Manage and/or contribute to special projects, such as promotional videos or photography series
Digital Communications
Manage the school website (Interactive Schools), as well as the Board of Trustees Portal (Wordpress- in collaboration with an external web developer)
Update and maintain the website to ensure accuracy of information
Oversee schedule and content of e-mail/web communications with families, including routine communications and special announcements
Manage and maintain the school’s social media feed, including Facebook and Instagram
Manage and oversee Seesaw, our digital journal archive for all students and summer camp
General Communications & Administration
Assist faculty and staff with communications as necessary (ex: Admissions, Giving, and Caedmon Family Association materials)
Maintain a style guide to ensure the unified presentation of all communication materials produced by the school
Partner with yearbook editor/school photographer to coordinate and maintain all digital files of photos/videos that relate to the school
Attend professional meetings, conferences, and workshops as appropriate
The Caedmon School is a Montessori preschool & Progressive Montessori elementary school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, serving children from 20 months through Fifth grade.
