About the Role We are searching for a passionate and skilled Linux CIS Compliance Engineer to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to leverage your expertise in Linux systems and security compliance to make a meaningful impact.
What You'll Do As a Linux CIS Compliance Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
System Hardening & Maintenance: Implement and maintain Linux system configurations to meet CIS benchmarks and industry best practices. Auditing & Reporting: Conduct regular audits of Linux systems to ensure compliance, identify deviations, and prepare detailed risk and compliance reports for stakeholders. Policy Development: Design and enforce security policies and procedures tailored for Linux environments. Automation Tools: Utilize tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or CIS-CAT to streamline compliance management and reporting. Collaboration: Partner with IT, security, and operations teams to address vulnerabilities, apply patches, and resolve compliance challenges. Training & Documentation: Provide guidance to team members on CIS compliance and maintain up-to-date documentation for all compliance-related activities, including baselines and configurations. Checklist & Script Development: Create scripts and checklists for system hardening and CIS benchmark compliance. What We're Looking For To excel in this role, you should have:
Proven experience managing and maintaining Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu). A strong understanding of CIS benchmarks, system hardening, and best practices for security. Hands-on experience with tools like CIS-CAT, SCAP, OpenSCAP, or equivalent compliance scanning tools. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. A solid grasp of security principles, networking, and operating system concepts. Expertise in patch management and vulnerability remediation. Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or PCI DSS. Industry-recognized certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), CompTIA Security+, or CISSP (preferred). Why Join TalentBridge?
